Alternative 2

Narrower Travel Lane with Striped Parking and Bike Lanes and Existing Median

Alternative 3

Although significant improvements to the five signalized intersections are not anticipated due to the proximity of adjacent businesses, all intersections will be evaluated as part of the Phase I study to ensure they are able to accommodate projected traffic needs. The condition of the traffic signals will be evaluated and a recommendation of improvements will be provided, if needed.

In addition to identifying roadway improvements, identification of associated ancillary improvements and costs thereof, such as utility improvements and roadway lighting improvements, is an important part of the Phase I Study so the Village of Skokie and Cook County can plan for and pursue appropriate levels of federal funding for subsequent engineering and construction.
